Nursery Staff

Our 'Key Person' system for our two year olds ensures that quality care and education is provided to meet the needs of all the children in our care. On entry to the nursery the children are allocated a key person which enables them to become familiar with one caring adult who gets to know the child through close observation.

The key person is responsible for:

Settling a child when they arrive in the morning, responding to their feelings, sharing happy/sad days and acknowledging and acting upon any distress.

Communicating important information about the child's well being and health with other members of staff.

Contributing to record keeping, helping to track learning and completing daily observations.

Collecting and recording evidence for ongoing achievement files.

Helping the children to put on and take off their coats. Applying sun cream and ensuring each child wears a sun hat.

Interacting with indoor and outdoor play supervision and ensuring all children have something/someone to play with.
