Reception

Foundation Stage learning is continued in our reception classes for children aged 4-5 years. Teaching staff believe in high quality, well planned, purposeful, integrated early education alongside traditional values of courtesy, good manners, caring and consideration, enabling every child to reach their full potential.

Children are offered a varied curriculum which builds on what they already know and includes opportunities for ICT, ADT, PE, ballet, music [taught by specialist teachers] alongside key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentration, persistence, learning to co-operate with each other - developing early communication, literacy and numeracy skills that prepare children for Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum.

Each nursery and reception class benefits from an experienced, qualified teacher and nursery nurse who together provide a bright, lively, rich and stimulating learning environment for our young children.
