Teaching Philosophy

Our philosophy is seen from day one with the youngest children in our nursery and then throughout the foundation stage and early years curriculum. This approach is continued with our older children where teachers are constantly reviewing how and what they teach. We use the National Curriculum as the template on which to frame our curriculum but as an independent school we go beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum and tailor the teaching to match the needs of our children. As a result we offer French from Year 3, elocution lessons, extended science provision and a full and varied sports programme. Regular INSET is organised to ensure teachers are up to date with the latest developments in teaching and how children learn. In this way we keep up to date with the latest developments and ensure we use the best combination of traditional and modern styles including ICT, interactive whiteboards, guest speakers and a variety of educational visits.
