End of Term Notices

Dear Parents

Year 6 NCT Results

Congratulations to all our Year 6 who received their NCT results this week. They scored an average of 111 in English and Maths and 115 in SPAG. These results are right up there with some of the highest scores the school has achieved which is significantly above the national average.

Year Six Performances

Our Year Six pupils have performed twice this week. Firstly in their amazing end of year production ‘Jill and Fred’s Hysterical, Historical Adventure’ which was supported by our brilliant choir, and in their Leavers’ Assembly. I felt very proud watching both performances and seeing how far they have come since their first assemblies at Highfield. Congratulations to each and every one of you. Also, a big thank you to Mrs Jones, Miss Macklam and Mrs Prince for their amazing direction and to all the staff who supported these events.

Staff News

I would like to congratulate Miss Crowley who recently got married and is now Mrs Wardley.

I am sorry to announce that Mrs Goulding will be leaving us in August.

School Survey

We have received 78 responses to the survey. A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete it. The breakdown of responses per class is as follows: RB - 8, 1W - 12, 2E - 5, 3D - 15, Year 4 - 12, Year 5 - 13, 6P - 13.

We will be using the surveys to inform our decision to protect areas of the school and curriculum that parents feel are important and make changes where there is a significant consensus from our parents. To achieve this, we need as many responses as possible across every year group. Thank you for your continued support.

Inspection and Book Review

Highfield Priory School will be inspected in the next academic year. We will be keeping a selection of the children’s exercise books as examples of their work for the Inspectors. These books will be returned to the children after their visit.

Uniform List

Please find attached the uniform list for September. Please take the time to read this document, especially the section Other Items. It is very important that all items that are brought to school are named. This year we have had a large amount of uniform and unnamed items which are very hard to return to their rightful owners.

End of Term

The school year will finish on Tuesday, at the normal time, after our Year Six Prize Giving.

Whole Staff Training Day

Monday 4th September will be a whole staff training day for School and Nursery. The Nursery and Holiday Club will be closed on this day.

Yours sincerely

A big congratulations to Highfield alumna Manavi whose team were victorious in the 'Youth Speaks' North of England Final last Sunday!

After previously winning the regional and district competitions, their topic for the final was 'The Impact of AI on the creative industry' with Manavi acting as the main speaker in a team of three girls.
