We are so proud of our staff team who are genuine, caring and most of all great fun! Our team are trained to the highest level and it is their support and respect for the children, and one another which makes Highfield such a fantastic nursery to be a part of.
Our staff are passionate about Early Years and are hand-picked to create an outstanding home from home environment. It is our staff that add the special magic to your child's day and are therefore carefully selected having successfully completed a rigorous recruitment process.

Our Nursery Manager holds her Early Years Professional Status and we have a Qualified Early Years Teachers who works in Pre-School.
We pride ourselves on being able to say that we have a low staff turnover at Highfield Priory Nursery and Preschool. We feel consistency of practitioners is crucial to ensure a secure and comforting learning environment for our children. Our longest standing staff member has been here 20 years. Our Early Years team consists of a wide variety of ages from 20 all the way through to 60, we feel as a setting this provides a wealth of knowledge, energy and every team member brings a different element and dimension to our team.
Your child will be assigned a key person and this will be your first port of call to discuss anything regarding your child. Miss Halstead (Early Years Leader) and Mrs Elstone (Nursery Manager) will always be available if you would like to talk to them. Although your child is assigned a key person, we are a very close knit community and you will get to know all the practitioners who work throughout Nursery and Pre-School.
Practitioners work closely with the Early Years Foundation Stage to track and observe all children. We use both ‘In The Moment’ Planning and Adult-led activities. As we have a highly skilled and qualified workforce, we feel our priority is spending quality time with all children and develop our children’s learning in that precious moment. Observations are emailed via 2simple when your child is focus child for that week.
We were practising our balancing skills in Nursery last week as we set up a rope walk in the Forest!

We got out into the forest recently in Nursery and had fun creating some massive bubbles! 🫧
