Holiday Club

Our Holiday Club is run by our Early Years Practitioners and Classroom Assistants who already have strong relationships with the children. Holiday club is available throughout the school holidays.

Children are placed into two clubs:

  • Preschool and Reception
  • Year 1 to Year 6

All Activities are differentiated by the children’s age group. Children are also able to influence and request activities based on their interests. We use the Highfield Haven, Sports Pitch, and various rooms within the school for different activities. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Art
  • A variety of sporting activities
  • Building Lego structures
  • Celebrating world festivals (such as carnivals)
  • Cooking and Baking
  • Creative Crafts- including crocheting, knitting, painting and clay modelling
  • Day trips
  • Forest School workshops
  • Language workshops
  • Playing board games
  • Producing talent shows
  • Watching films

For our Forest School enthusiasts, we offer a Forest School holiday club days from the Easter holidays right through to the October half term. This holiday club is ran by our experienced Forest School Leader, Mrs Marskell. This gives children a chance to develop their outdoor skills. Activities in this session include den building, campfire cooking, woodwork and much more.

The clubs are open from 8am until 6pm, however morning sessions (8am – 1pm) and afternoon sessions (1pm – 6pm) are available, if the full day is not required. Places are offered on a first come first served basis and should be booked through the school office. A full lunch is provided for the children however a packed meal is required for their tea. As it is during the holidays no school uniform is required.

The latest from Highfield Priory

While the girls were away winning netball matches, our Year 5 and 6 boys were busy having a blast outdoors! 🌳

They tackled Maths and English challenges along a mapped trail. From punctuation puzzles to grammar games and multiplication challenges, it was an afternoon full of learning, movement, and healthy competition! πŸ’ͺ✏️🌳Photos from Highfield Priory School and Nursery's post

Our Chess Club is back in full swing this term! β™ŸοΈπŸ§ βœ¨

Under the expert guidance of Mr Greenwood, pupils have been learning some of his specialist moves and sharpening their strategic thinking week by week. From opening gambits to checkmate combinations, everyone is enjoying the challenge (and a few friendly rivalries too!).

It’s wonderful to see so many pupils developing their concentration, patience, and problem solving skills, all while having fun! β™ŸοΈπŸ‘

Well done to all our budding chess masters, and a big thank you to Mr Greenwood for sharing his knowledge and passion for the game!
