Dear Parents

Pre-School Nativity

Early last week, our Pre-School children were our first pupils to perform their festive shows. Their confidence was clear to see as they danced right in front of their families, giving them the occasional wave as they whirled by. The children really enjoyed showing parents all the dances they have been working on in lessons. It was a very special event and we were delighted to share these proud moments with you all. Thank you to Scarlett and Esme, our excellent Year 6 Narrators, and to Miss Burns for choreographing the wonderful dances and helping to create a magical show!

Infant Nativity

The ‘Lights, Camel, Action’ performances last week took the school by a storm! Our Year 2 performers acted incredibly well, learning so many lines and projecting their voices beautifully across the sports hall. Reception and Year 1 sang magnificently, complemented by some fabulous moves from Miss Burns’ dancers. It was wonderful to see our Infants working together to create such a memorable performance. A big thank you to Ms Eccles, Mrs Street and all the staff involved in the production.

A Seasonal Celebration

Our Junior Seasonal Celebration on Wednesday saw our final festive performance of the term. The Christmas concert was led by our Year 6 pupils who had written winter poems and sang together in small groups. I was very proud of their performance and the way they set an excellent example to the rest of the school. The Year 6 children have had a huge impact on this years performance, selecting some of the songs and even writing lyrics for 4 verses in 1 of the carols. As well as a flute duet being included this year, most members of the choir performed as a small group, which is more than ever before, due entirely to their enthusiasm. The performance was truly sensational and it was the perfect way to conclude our winter performances for this term. Thank you to all the children who took part, and to Miss Macklam for directing a beautiful concert.

Christmas Dinner

Thank you to Mrs Aspey and our fantastic kitchen team for our wonderful Christmas lunch yesterday. The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed their traditional Christmas lunch, complete with crackers and hats!

Christmas Party Day

Thank you Ms Eccles and our amazing PTA for our wonderful Christmas Party Day! The day was filled with fun activities, a disco and even a visit from Father Christmas! It was lovely to see so many festive outfits and Christmas jumpers throughout the school, and to hear laughter filling the corridors. A special thank you to all the parents who helped to organise the presents for all the children. It was a truly magical day!

Bethany House

Last Thursday, 6P visited Bethany House. In preparation for the event, the children had created some beautiful Christmas cards to give to the residents. During the visit, they sang a selection of well-known carols and members of the class recited seasonal readings and poems that they had written. Then they chatted with the residents, sharing their experiences of school life and helping to solve crossword puzzles! After some light refreshments, the children continued their conversations before singing their final song: ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas,’ and wishing everyone a fond farewell. All the children were complimented by the staff, visitors and residents on how well-mannered they were, and it was lovely to be told that they were an absolute credit to the school. We were very proud of the children and our Year 6 classes are already looking forward to visiting again in the New Year.

Donations

Thank you for all your kind donations, at the Christmas performances, for our School Charities over the last two weeks. We have raised over £465.30 for Derian House and Make a Wish.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday and a Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 8th January for a brand-new term.
