Ten Reasons Why You Should Choose Highfield Priory School For Your Child
We have a long reputation of academic excellence. This is our seventh year running in the top 30 of The Sunday Times Top 100 Preparatory Schools in England and we are the National Winners of the ISA's Junior and Prep. School Award for Excellence and Innovation (ISA 2017-2018).
We have outstanding Inspection Reports for our School and Early Years and Foundation Stage from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
We have been awarded Three Star Gold Membership for our work with Gifted and Talented pupils.
We Aim High for our children and prepare them academically, socially, physically and emotionally for the Grammar, Independent or State Secondary School of their choice.
We have Specialist Teachers and Facilities in Science, Modern Languages, Music, ICT, Drama, Sport, Elocution and Art.
We encourage our children to develop a love and appreciation of the great outdoors through Orienteering and Team Building exercises, a Residential Trip to Shropshire and in our outdoor classroom, Highfield Haven.
Our children discover and develop new talents through our extensive Extra-Curricular Activity Programme.
We hold a firm belief in inclusion: all children are given regular opportunities to build confidence in Competitive Sporting Fixtures and Performing on Stage in front of an audience. Children are always a surprise and an inspiration –they just need the opportunity to prove it.
We have a long history and a strong sense of tradition and traditional teaching methods; we do not allow government policy to cause us to deviate from giving our pupils a firm and confident grounding in Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
We work hard to help our pupils to be the best that they can be, but we also work hard for their parents. We know modern life is hectic and unpredictable and we understand the importance of establishing trust and confidence as well as Extended Care to allow for the demands of the working parent.

Well done to all of our cross country runners who took part in the ISA Cross Country at Beech House on Wednesday. With around 120 runners in each event and muddy conditions, the races were tough. However, the Highfield spirit and great determination shone through to produce some excellent performances. Well done everyone! ... See moreSee less
Our Reception children have done some amazing map work recently and the idea came from Harriet who said she wanted to find Chorley on a map. The children talked with their talk partners about maps and direction. They then helped each other to find places on a grid and they even went outside in the snow to practise following directions. Well done, Reception! ... See moreSee less
